The Galena House pressmark in gold on navy: the cover of The Amber Thread, Issue Two, in the making.
The Amber Thread · The print edition

Reserve your print copy

The first printed edition of the magazine of place, with its first portraits in words.

A portrait, in the magazine's sense, is a likeness made in words: of one person, or of one place, written from life and by invitation. The first of them will be set on paper in this edition.

A print run is a promise made before anyone knows who will keep it. Reserving a copy costs nothing and commits you to nothing; it tells the press how many to set. When the edition is ready, the press will write to you once, with the price and the date.

A gift to the press, if you like

Entirely your choice, and never needed to keep a place. A gift goes to the paper, the ink, and the slow hours a portrait takes.

Your card

Your address is kept by the house and used only for the press's letters. Card payments are taken by Square; no card number touches the house.
