The Frisco Inn on Galena

A breathing place beneath Mount Royal. The Inn remembers people the way mountains remember weather—quietly, faithfully. It’s where my work lives: welcoming guests, tending to the small details that make a stay feel like being known. Still, by Design unfolds here—not as a backdrop, but as a character of its own.

About the Book

“On the first morning back, the mountain didn’t greet me so much as it allowed me—like a door left unlocked for someone who knows the way. Coffee steam stitched itself into the light. The Inn breathed. And for the first time in a long while, so did I.”

About Avery Maxwell

AVERY – Innkeeper and Director of Guest Experience Avery Maxwell leads guest services and brand development at The Frisco Inn on Galena, blending heartfelt hospitality with thoughtful strategy to help every part of the Inn operate smoothly and intentionally. He oversees front office operations, supports outlet growth—including Mt. Royal Coffee, the Spa, the Gift Shop, and the Inn’s expanding food and beverage offerings—and works closely with the owner to strengthen the Inn’s presence, performance, and charm. Originally from North Georgia, where he spent much of his childhood exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, Avery brings a deep appreciation for connection, curiosity, and the power of place. He’s a world traveler, avid reader, and always on the lookout for new ways to help guests feel at ease and inspired. When he’s not welcoming guests or crafting the next campaign, you’ll likely find him running a 5K, lifting at the gym, or hosting Plato’s Corner, a quiet evening gathering in the library featuring reflective readings and discussion-based activities. Avery is proud to be part of the story unfolding at The Frisco Inn—and honored to help shape the guest experience from first hello to fond farewell.
