Avery Lane Maxwell at the Frisco Inn on Galena
A Life in Letters & Hospitality

Written with reflection. Built with intention.

Avery Lane Maxwell is an author, innkeeper, and the co-founder of Galena House, a boutique hospitality company rooted in the quiet rhythms of real places.

His work is shaped by experience, not theory.

Before writing Still, by Design., Avery found himself rebuilding, personally and professionally, inside a small bed and breakfast in Frisco, Colorado. What began as a job became something deeper: a return to structure, to care, and to a way of living that values presence over pace.

The Frisco Inn on Galena became both setting and catalyst.

It is where the book was written, in early mornings, in the spaces between guest arrivals, and in the quiet moments that define a place more than any single event.

Still, by Design. is not separate from that environment.
It is a reflection of it.

Today, Avery’s work extends beyond the page.

Through Galena House, he develops systems, experiences, and ideas that support boutique hospitality, bringing together operations, guest experience, and thoughtful design into one cohesive approach.

At the center of it all is a simple belief:

That the way something is built
is the way it is felt.

Brand Philosophy

Literature, Hospitality & Boutique Craft

Galena House lives at the intersection of literature, hospitality, and boutique craft.

Each offering is created or chosen with care. Signed books. Curated goods. Objects meant to be held, used, and remembered.

The philosophy is simple. Beautiful things should carry meaning. And the quiet moments — the ones often overlooked — are where life is most deeply felt.

“Healing isn’t found in grand gestures, but in the stillness between them.”

— Avery Lane Maxwell, Still, by Design.
